Museum on the Square

Museum on the Square is a reinvention of AT&T’s former 100,000-square-foot switching station into a downtown business hub. The City of Santa Rosa’s Redevelopment Agency selected the team of Hugh Futrell Corporation and TLCD Architecture to renovate the five story windowless concrete hulk, long considered an eyesore disfiguring the City’s downtown square.

Hugh Futrell Corporation and TLCD transformed the massive box, opening it to daylight and exposing its material essence. The concrete structure, juxtaposed to sophisticated perforated aluminum panels, now presents a fresh new face to a downtown undergoing revitalization. The Origami-like panels offer shifting perspective and are a bright reminder of the fresh possibilities that accompany change. The re-imagined, re-created building is now home to the administrative headquarters of Luther Burbank Savings, TLCD Architecture and VisiQuate, Inc.
