Senior Project Manager

 

Hugh Futrell Corporation (HFC), a respected planning, development, construction and property management company based in Santa Rosa, California, is now looking to add an experienced Senior Project Manager to our collaborative team.


I. JOB DESCRIPTION • SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Core responsibilities include:

Project and process Management

  • Oversees and coordinates all aspects of both residential and commercial process from receipt of plans through warranty period is complete

  • Monitoring and Coordinating all permit submissions by design team

  • Work with site superintendent to create a project schedule and help make adjustments in order to maintain it

  • Maintains cost tracking and reviews with management monthly against budget 

  • Displays knowledge of all areas of construction techniques

  • Maintains effective communication with superintendent, consultants, and subcontractors 

  • Create Bid packets, analyze bids and recommend contractor

  • Writing scopes and issuing all subcontracts and change orders with the aid of administrative staff

  • Monitor progress and process invoices quickly to make sure subcontractors are paid timely

  • Monitors work performed and completed at jobsite meets the quality specifications

  • Ensures project is completed on time and within budget

  • Carefully monitor project schedule and assist Superintendent in maintaining it as needed 

  • Evaluates and looks for any possible Value Engineering throughout entire project

  • Acts as point of contact for architects, engineers, superintendent, subcontractors, suppliers, and city planning officials

  • Unlike other organizations the superintendent and project manager are equal peers. The Superintendent and Project Manager are equally accountable for client satisfaction, meeting the project budget, schedule, and documentation

  • Create/Manage all construction related documents with the assistance of a Contract Admin (i.e. Contracts, Change Orders, RFI’s, Submittals, ASI’s, AFP’s, etc.)

ll. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, traits, and abilities Include:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent experience to provide ability to

    • Read and Write to the degree necessary by the position

    • Perform Mathematical Calculations to the degree necessary by the position

  • Preferred: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an educational emphasis in Construction Management or equivalent experience

    • Must be able to read and understand all types of construction drawings

  • Minimum of five years' experience performing similar duties 

  • Ability to work independently and drive projects forward to completion, holds self and others accountable for getting the job done, is proactive and deadline driven

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; ability to think outside the box for all possible solutions

  • Demonstrates organizational skills, ownership, and strong initiative

  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”, knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Communicates effectively with clients and staff, both verbally and written

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in Sonoma County

  • Treats people with respect; Keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.

  •  Must be efficient with: Windows, Microsoft Project, Excel, Work, Outlook, and any experience with Procore is a plus

  • Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Keeps emotions under control; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.

  • Maintains an honest, respectful, but stern relationship with all subcontractors.

Physical requirements:

  • Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.

  • Walk on uneven ground

  • Work safely in construction areas 

  • Work outside in all weather conditions

III. GENERAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must have minimum 5 years experience working as a Project Manager or equivalent

  • Must provide employment authorization of legal right to work in the USA 

  • Possess a drivers license in California and a well maintained working vehicle 

 

lV. EMPLOYMENT TYPE

This is a full time salaried position with standard working days Monday through Friday. Salary based on experience. Benefits include: PTO, paid holidays, car allowance, medical and dental insurance, and a 401k with company contribution.
